A new national-level sponsor, Kohl's, has been identified by US Youth Soccer for the American Cup family of tournaments. This is a tournament open to any boys or girls team in the age groups U-09 through U-15. Teams will be bracketed by skill as much as possible. This is a program-wide tournament / carnival / festival for recreational, intermediate, and advanced teams from across the state, with the only caveat being that no team may participate in both the Kohl's American Cup and the US Youth Soccer New Mexico Open State Cup.

The 2008 Kohl's American Cup will be held 10-11 May 2008 at the Farmers Insurance Soccer Complex at Santa Ana Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM. Recreational and advanced teams U-09 thru U-15, boys and girls, are encouraged to apply. Teams will be flighted accordingly. Kohl's American Cup teams may not also participate in the US Youth Soccer NM Open State Cup.
