Items for Discussion

This page is for feedback and comments from our members. Posted below are proposals and drafts on which NMYSA is soliciting your input and also items which are in the 30-day comment period prior to becoming effective after initial passage by the Board. Please e-mail your comments and suggestions to the State Office or to the specific person listed next to a particular issue as responsible for collating input for that item.

[posted 071203]: This is the new draft "Travel" portion of the Travel and Tournament Manual. It has been recommended for approval by the Rules Committee to replace Section 4.08 of the current T&T Manual. It does three things:

  1. It makes our rules consistent with USYS rules. The entire USYS Travel Rule is incorporated in full in 4.01.
  2. It greatly simplifies the travel requirements for NM teams. All proper travel documents can now be acquired electronically.
  3. The overall document is simplified. USYS and NMYSA require travel documents as proof of insurance. With online registration and 21st century communications, that proof is easily provided.

Board members: this is the 30-day notification from the Rules Committee that the draft is to be voted on to replace Section 4.08 of the current Travel and Tournament Manual. We would welcome your input.

NOTE: It is the intention of the Rules Committee that we will split the former T&T Manual into three separate sections: 4.0 (Travel), 4.1 (Tournaments) and 4.2 (State Sponsored Tournaments) as separate documents for easy access.

Please provide any specific comments on posted discussion items to the State Office for consideration. Revisions are put to a vote at a future Board meeting or to an electronic vote after a 30-day discussion period has elapsed.
