The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) is a national program to identify and develop high-level youth players throughout the country to represent their state association, region and the United States in soccer competition. US Youth Soccer ODP teams are formed at the state association and regional levels, made up of the best players in various age groups. At the state association level, pools of players are identified in each eligible age group, brought together as a team to develop their skill through training and competition. From the state pools and subsequent teams, players are identified for regional and national pools and teams. The Young Olympians Program (YOP) is a state program to identify and develop youth players in the next age year younger than the US Youth Soccer ODP program. • Playing Opportunities: Playing Opportunities are the first step in the ODP process. They are a way for players to make the ODP pool for their respective age group. At a playing opportunity, players participate in a small amount of training with the ODP staff coaches and then play small- and/or full-sided games. During this process the ODP staff coaches evaluate the players and recommend those they feel should be invited to join the ODP pool. The playing opportunities are free to all, but in order to participate you will need to submit the ODP Playing Opportunity Registration Form. We will have these forms available to fill out at the events, but you can also download it (at the above link), fill it out, and submit it to us at the event.

• Financial assistance
  Financial assistance may be available for New Mexico ODP and YOP participants, based on individual need.

• For the 2008-09 seasonal year, the New Mexico ODP Program includes players born in calendar years '92-'96 and the YOP Program includes players born in calendar year '97.

• For playing opportunities, each player will need to complete an ODP-YOP Playing Opportunity Registration Form (see above). It is recommended that you arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each session. Contact the Associate Technical Director if you have any questions.
